Grace - Get out of Hell Free Card

Wayne Watley conversation
Over the last few years I have noticed an increasing amount of teaching that focuses on love and grace as the key messages of the Church. While I see this as admirable we have all but stopped teaching about sin, judgement and hell.

In my opinion there must be a balance and we have led people to believe that all you have to do is "say a little prayer and accept Jesus in your heart, your sins are forgiven and you are going to heaven," without telling them what is expected.

For the record I do not believe in once saved always saved  nor do I believe in greasy grace. This is quite a complicated topic but I will try to simplify my reasoning.

"For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins." Hebrews 10:26.

"And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God." Luke 9:62

"And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou? And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live." Luke 10:25-28.

"But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;" Hebrews 3:13,14.

We are not talking about a true Believer that has a misstep or misdeed but those that live in open rebellion to what they know God would not approve of.

In Luke 12:42-46 Jesus shows us how a faithful servant can turn into an unfaithful one.

We have to be overcomers and endure until the end. None of us are perfect but as we learn and grow and realize what God expects how can we continue to willfully do what He hates and call ourselves Believers.

Jesus said "If you love me you will keep my commandments." We need to look at what His commandments really were and are we keeping them.

I really dont want to see young people especially see how close to the world they can go without going over that line. I would rather stay closer to my Master and walk as we have been instructed in His Book.

I have been that Christian who walked part in the world and part out and it cost me greatly in my life.

I will leave this with one other thought:
"If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him." 1 John 2:15"
"Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and in the Spirit of our God." (I CORINTHIANS 6:9-11)
